Happy New Year!!

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone enjoyed the holidays and that the New Year is off to a wonderful beginning.  I wanted to catch everyone up on our latest dance activities and our future plans. 

In November, the girls competed in their regional competition called the Oireachtas.  They both did very well in their solo competitions and in their team dances.

Shannon is ranked 11^th in the region in her age group and qualified for the ‘Worlds’ dance competition held in Boston in March of 2013.  Erin is ranked 2^nd in her age group and also qualified for ‘Worlds’.  They both danced on the Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend and it was a crazy busy day, but the results were well worth it. 

The girls also danced in a ceili dance, which is an eight-hand dance team.  It has for girls and four boys.  My two girls dance on the same team.  This team won the Nationals in Chicago and they also won the regional this weekend.  This team will go to Boston to complete in the ‘Worlds’ as well. 

After the Oireachtas, we took a little break from dancing and enjoyed the holiday.  Now, the girls are back into the swing of things and getting ready for some upcoming competitions.  We will be going to some local feis, and we are also planning on go to Scotland. 

The All-Scots is a competition held in Glasgow, Scotland.  It is over the weekend of February 23.  Both girls will compete on the Friday of that weekend.   

This is our family’s first time to Scotland.  We are also going to England during this trip.  We are very excited and very much looking forward to it.  I will be blogging from there, so look for some fabulous photos and sightseeing.
